About Animalearn

Who We Are

Established in 1990, Animalearn, is an education division of the American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS) that works to enlighten people about the harmful use of animals in education.

What We Do

  • Lend a Helping Hand

    Lend a Helping Hand

Animalearn helps educators, students and others find humane science resources that enable them to teach and learn without harming animals in science education.

  • Offer Solutions

In 1996, Animalearn launched its alternatives to dissection loan program, The Science Bank. Today The Science Bank offers hundreds of high-quality, animal-friendly science education resources, which are all available to borrow for FREE for all education levels K-12 and beyond. These humane alternatives aid in instruction of anatomy, physiology, and psychology lessons without harming animals or the environment. Our loan program is the only FREE loan program of its kind in the United States.

  • Pig

    Raise Awareness

Animalearn travels to science and technology education conferences to showcase innovative humane science resources like those offered in The Science Bank. We also conduct workshops for educators about animals used in education and the humane alternatives that can be used to replace them.

  • Recognize Humane Science Educators and Students

Recognize Humane Science Educators and Students

Every year Animalearn acknowledges individual educators and students who care about animals and have made an impact on animals used in education.
